HUGE meat reduction in Sainsbury's sausages

Yesterday I noticed that Sainsbury's Butchers choice, pork Cumberland sausages had had a packaging make over, on checking the ingredients I was horrified to see that the meat content had gone down from 72% to 62% which is a 13.89% reduction in meat, however the price remained the same.
This is pure profiteering and I won't be buying these sausages again.
I raised a complaint to Sainsbury's via Facebook and this is there pathetic reply,
"Thanks, I've passed your feedback to our buyers so they can take it into account when they next review the product."

Even 72% is a pitiful proportion of meat.

What reply do you want ?

You don't have to buy them, you can buy elsewhere.

You get better quality from a butchers.

You were looking at 2 different products.

One is regular Sainsburys brand at 62% pork and always priced around £1 a pack

The other is Sainsburys butchers choice which are 72% pork, usually £1.50 but currently on offer at £1.

(I would post links but can't as newbie)

OP specifically mentions "Butcher's Choice" sausages ... are you saying the OP is lying?

You CAN post links ... simply change http to hxxp ... they won't be working links, but someone else could make working links.

(I must admit I snickered to myself using the word "links" in a thread about sausages). :D

Certainly mistaken unless Sainsburys online products haven't caught up with what is on sale in stores, meat content of the Butcher's Choice Cumberland Pork Sausages is given as 72% British Pork. [The nonsensically long URL is Sainsburys' doing not mine]

Never tried the Butcher's Choice. I'd say it's always worth paying more for Ultimate/Taste the Difference or Debbie and Andrews at 97%. That's when I didn't get up I time for the Farmer's Market to see these guys http://www.gourmetsausagemaker.com/our-products/
I need to think of something new here...

As previous posters has accused me of saying the OP was lying, I would like to thank you for making me feel so welcome to this site...

The OP was mistaken as neither the meat content or the packaging has changed, they were looking at a different product. Most likely because the other had sold out/simply wasn't ranged at that store.

I work for Sainsburys as a manager in convenience so actually see these products everyday. I know what they look like.

Gave me a laugh-this is the review of the 62% sausages the op seems to have been looking at? Ps my comment about porkies was a joke..
    " Not too sausagey" (?!)

    "5 out of 55 out of 5
    Not too 'sausagey', just right.
    I'm a bit funny about sausages. ...
....They are usually a pound a pack. What else could you get for that price, these days?
(Tip for busy Mums: Lay them out on a grill rack, DON'T pr1ck them, and cook them at 160C in the middle of the oven for 40mins, turning them over at half time). Saves standing over a frying pan.)
PS. It's a sad sign of the times that my review kept failing because the word 'pr1ck' was considered appropriate language..."

Please don't tar everyone with the same brush, I supported your position and posted the link that you were unable. In fact, the use of the word 'posters' is incorrect as it was only one who had questioned your post.
