Options
It is likely I am to be made redundant 1 year from statutory retirement age. I will be able to access a small private pension of around 6900 a year. Will I be able to claim contribution based jsa thanks

Yes for 26 weeks. Income and/or savings are not taken into consideration when the claim is made.

And, of course, the person has to be actively seeking other work and would hopefully find it in less than 26 weeks.

To add in relation to the OP: The OP's private pension is at a rate more than the weekly contribution-based JSA amount and therefore no JSA would be payable.

  • Sorry to hijack, but can anyone advise whether you can claim contribution-based JSA having received PILON as well as a redundancy payment, whilst still in the PILON "notice period"?

Yes, from the date of termination.

That pilon payment does not count.
