Shower Question

My current shower is a mixer shower which is exposed. It's looking old and dated (new purchase property and want to add my own mark and update it) but the hot and cold pipes feeding the shower aren't hidden in the wall. They come straight out of the ceiling and seem to feed into the back of the mixer valve (hard to see how without pulling it off).
Most mixer units I look at online for purchase, even though they say they're exposed still seem to say they require the hot & cold pipes to be in the wall.
Anyone got any ideas what I can do or where I could purchase one from which wouldnt mind about the pipes also being exposed.
Thanks

Hi, You can get adaptors for most surface mounted showers specially to allow for surface pipes.0

That's great... At least it means I'll be able to get rid of this old 70's tatty reject of a shower for something cleaner and more in keeping with the bathroom. And a mixer unit, not something I fancy. Hated those as a kid and tbh, there's something a little nicer about having a seperate shower, even if it is over the bath.0

We recently got one of these to replace the shower in the house we moved into - Mira Gem 88 Eexposed Valve (EV). Very good shower and look nice too.

Not sure if I understood your description, but basically with our shower the valve was sticking out from the wall with the hot and cold pipes coming out into it. When the valve was removed the new one fitted on fine. We are very impressed with this and it's designed for hard water areas which we live in.
Important thing to check is that the centres of the pipes on your current shower (i.e. how far apart are the pipes) match the replacement. You can download the installation instructions from the Mira website to check. Not sure if you could fit this onto completely exposed pipes, you could always give Mira a call and see what they say.
