Credit Card Overcharged

in Credit cards
Hi,
I am living abroad at the moment.
I used an amex card to pay for my mobile contract. The provider recently quadrupled the price of calling abroad (which i use alot) without informing me and are now unwilling to reimburse me for last moths bill which was almost triple what i normally pay. (Base payment is around £7, in a normal month this rises to around £40 with foreign calling and last month they charged me £113).
They claim the price change was on their website, and when i complained that they had not emailed, called or texted me about it, they said that they didn't call anyone! Obviously i don't check their website for the latest pricing updates. Normally my only contact with them is they email me my bill and text me with offers.
What rights do i have?
Does the fact that i paid by credit card help?
Thanks,
shmuli9

Check the Ts & Cs of your contract to see if they have the right to vary charges (highly likely they will for international calling, because that's not within their exclusive control) and what notification, if any, they commit to providing. What rights do i have?
I wouldn't have thought so, unless they're demonstrably misrepresenting.Does the fact that i paid by credit card help?
Using a UK mobile while living abroad may not be the most cost-effective solution anyway, is there any reason not to use a local one?0 -
Sorry I wasn't clear, the disagreement is with a foreign company, using a foreign sim to call home.
If i were to tell my cc company that the payment is fraudulent would that be beneficial?0 -
No, because it sounds as if that would be a fraudulent claim in itself.
What do the terms of your mobile agreement say?0
