Greetings, Im a reader not a poster, dont have much useful to say so prefer to stay quiet in life :)

as per the title, apparantly Im currently 4 weeks away from decisions from the 4 companies in the title

Northern Rock was a loan as part of a together mortgage in 2000
just been chatting about this one in particular with someone and realised that the PPI must have been on the full mortgage possibly? the mortgage was taken in 2000, 42k mortgage and 10k unsecured on the together deal.
I sold the house in 2010, we had a settlement figure and all good, took a few months for the property to sell, I then learned that the settlement figure had risen by just under £5k this being due to the amount of the refund on something being reduced due to timescale???
the PPI just came back with the mortgage account number, but I been assuming its on the unsecured portion.

barclayloan was a personal loan for a car back in 1997 but they seem to still have all the info for it?
1200 loan over 48 months

barclaycard was CC from 2003 till 2008 average balance was around 1400

halifax was credit card from 2001 to 2008 average balance :( about an ashaming 7000-8000

I never knowingly accepted or chose payment protection, job was secure and I was always told by my Dad that these policies arent worth the paper they written on, like car warranties etc

both Barclays have been in touch via text and letters asking for more info and seem to be progressing things

Northern Rock claim seems to be the quietest, maybe due to the changes etc it will take longer

Halifax rung and I had very interesting conversation with the guy, he had the original form in front of him from August 2001, lots of questions about did I take PPI etc, I certainly didnt knowingly accept and told him that, also said I would have wanted to keep payments as low as possible.

he gave a chuckle and said that the PPI option indeed hadnt been selected on the form, the rest of the call went very quickly, ended with him asking how I would want paying once they had decided?

no idea if they be successful or what sort of amounts I will see if any, but will post and update here as my journey continues

I did out of interest try some online PPI refund calculators, but they gave pie in the sky figures in my opinion

anything is better than nothing and right now even a few quid would improve things LOL

I know that i only have my own ignorance to blame for this, being young and stupid as well as being in a circle of far more well of friends and lifestyle etc, seemed so easy at the time and didnt feel like I was spending real money, simple swipe and it was mine

one of the reasons I have for a long time and still continue to basically pay cash only for pretty much everything now, certainly seems far more real.

WOW my first bit of good news after working hard for over 8 years of debt management and then finishing my IVA

barclaycard and barclayloan have both upheld my complaint and apparently I can expect to hear a refund amount and hopefully see a cheque before 28th July.
