Personally, I wouldn't waste my time with equities until I've at least £50k. It requires constant attention, news reading and analysis to get a return any better than a standard index tracker.0

I believe the oft quoted phrase is to start investing in individual shares only after you've made your first million in collective investments (mutual funds originally as it was us based).0 -

I assume you mean individual equities rather than equities in general but I'd certainly agree that individual shares makes no sense for small amounts.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0
