Insurance and Pound/Dollar

I am due to honeymoon with my wife to America on 6th July. We fly to Newark on 6th for 4 nights then on to Vegas for 4 nights then back home.

Ive paid cash through my debit for flights with United and just booked hotels direct. So I'm worried now I have no insurance...

Whats best way to get insurance for this trip. Im more worried about the flights being delayed/cancelled rather than being injured..

Hoping to insure the holiday somewhat so that if there is a delay cancellation I will be taken care of, new flights given and hotel paid for...

Also I presume with the pound being so poor against the dollar, Im wondering should i get changed now, or wait to last minute. Is there any better way to get a better exchange rate. Should I just use my credit card?

Best way to get insurance? Use a comparison site, look for cash back. Just ensure the policy has sufficient cover for your needs.

No one can tell you what will happen to the exchange rate in the next week. Look at the article on the main site about the best ways to spend abroad.

And get insurance in place as soon as possible.

As you are off to America, medical insurance should really be higher up your list of insurance priorities than the flights or hotels.
If the flight is cancelled, you will either be offered a refund or alternate flight and if it's delayed, you will just get a later flight and provided the hotel booking is confirmed, the room should still be available when you arrive.
It's only if the flight is cancelled and you don't take a later one that you may lose the money from the hotel.

Medical costs are a different matter.
Have an accident or get ill in the states without adequate insurance coverage and you could well find yourself starting married life seriously in debt or bankrupt.

Any decent travel insurance policy will cover you for flights, hotels and medical costs and for an 8 night/9 day honeymoon, it won't be too costly.
