O/S Daily Tuesday 28th June 2016
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.
Morning everyone
Birthday wishes to those celebrating a birthday, hope you have a great day x
Hugs and get well wishes to those that want/need them x
Now light, bright and sun shining. I have a load in WM that I want to peg out before going to work.
DH up and gone to work stupid stupid stupid early. DS1 now getting ready for work. DS2 still in his pit.
Dinner last night was HM quiche lorraine, ham, stuffed jacket potato, side salad, pasta salad – all eaten and enjoyed, ice cream for dessert for those that had room. Tonight will be fish, chips/jacket potato, beans/veg – easy bung In the oven dinner as hairdresser is booked. Will be pleased to get my hair sorted – feels too heavy and long.
Was reasonably productive yesterday – got the ironing pile sorted and ran the hoover over and did a few other jobs, made an apple crumble, then had a while to sit on the sofa watching some cookery programmes on the tv, feel a bit more motivated.
Keep safe and well x

Good morning everyone.
Thanks for the thread nmlc.
Cloudy and bright outside. Yesterday was sunny with intermittent rain but was warm enough.
Today will be quiet and restful as I've got a busy enough rest of the week. There'll be some gentle emailing to be done, maybe a little light vacuuming and a flick of the duster.
I hope everyone has a lovely Tuesday.0 -
Morning All
It's just weather outside, neither one thing nor another. Washing on the airer anyway.
Busy day at work then home for a quick shower yesterday, it was the leavers party. They had a fabulous time, all paid for by their own fundraising, including a delivery of Dominoes pizza. I tried some pizza and honestly don't see what the fuss is about, quite greasy.
Leavers assembly today which is always emotional, will really be looking forward to finishing up tomorrow.
Hope you are all well, take care. XX0 -
Morning all,
Looks a bit brighter here today the sun may even appear later on !! Off to work for me dd is working with me today too which will be nice.
Dinner tonight will be a curry which is already in the sc bowl in the fridge I just need to get it out and put in on before I go to work, I have made dd a quorn curry which we can shove in the oven once we get home.
I need to have a hoover through tonight and put a wash on, I need to go in the garden and collect all of Evis's toys up as the man is coming to mow the lawn today, lets hope he doesn't smash any more windows today !
Have good days all xx0 -
Morning everyone,
Dry and reasonably bright here.
Had a busy and productive afternoon yesterday with loads of chores done inside and out, plus caught up on Game of Thrones so just have the last episode to watch.
OH came home with a red face after sitting in the sun at Lords, had a great day with eldest SS, less said about the football match the better
Today will need to go to Ely and return some cropped trousers, tried them on a couple of times as unsure but would rather spend money on something really like. Tilly needs to go to vet for check up after her grass seed adventure, Rosie seems a bit lame and sore with her arthrits this morning so have popped a bit of her medicine on brekkie.
Tea will be meatballs in tomato sauce, eating freezer stocks down and not much left.
Have a good day everyone, take care folks x0 -
Good Morning chums, sun is shining at the moment which is nice.I have a bit of washing to go on the line for a blow which I did last night.I watched the Spain/Italy match with my DGS and Italy were fantastic. Then when I got home I watched the England match ...errm not so good. But well done to Iceland.
Hairdressers this morning for a trim, then dentists with DGS Ben for a check-up.
Home for lunch then tonight its quiz night which I always enjoy. No shopping to buy at all this week which is good as it means I can watch Wimbledon and do some more knitting.

Morning all,
Hugs to all those feeling poorly, including pets xxx
Home journal working well - ok, so it was only day one, but managed to get all jobs and errands tick off yesterday. speky - don't be too over-awed, it's just a nice exercise book with lists and notes. I do love a list... took DH and I just over an hour to blitz zone one - kitchen and cloakroom. Today we will tackle the lounge and dining room.
Have just put tonight's tea in the SC - beef in beer, which is a recipe from a student cookbook that DD bought DH for Christmas in an attempt to get him to cook something other than spaghetti bolognaise! Smells lovely already. Gym shortly then off to the charity. My boss was at Glastonbury so I'm looking forward to seeing how she got on.
DH has a couple of jobs to apply for today plus a JSA appointment booked for Thursday. Never been in this situation before, so it's all new and a bit scary. Need to dig out some payslips etc for him to take.
Hope you all have a good day

Good morning everyone :hello:
It's bright and sunny here this morning although rain is forecast for later on. I managed a good night's sleep so I feel wide awake and raring to go. Hubby and the two girls have left for work/school and DD16 is just getting up. I have plenty of chores for her to do this morning so she won't be bored :rotfl::rotfl:.
Hubby has requested gammon, egg and chips for tea so that is easy and all I have to do is cut up some potatoes into chips or maybe wedges depending on how the mood strikes me.
I am supposed to go to SW today but I don't want to go out so I will weigh at home in a bit. I'm not expecting great things anyway as I ate like a pig yesterday. Oh well, back on plan today so will just keep on chugging along.
I watched a few hours of Wimbledon yesterday which was very good and managed to successfully avoid the football. I noticed that my neighbours flags have come down though so I'm sure they are feeling pretty despondent this morning. I will carry on watching the tennis and like JackieO will be doing some knitting whilst it's on.
Well I am desperate for a cup of tea so I will go and weigh now before I drink it as every little helps
Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx0 -
Good morning all,
After work yesterday, my GF and I attempted to watch Game of Thrones to see what the hype is all about but we couldn’t find it anywhere. So we resorted to Dexter. It’s okay. I made her a spicy chicken pasta with garlic bread which was very tasty if I do say so myself. Starting today it’s healther choices for both of us after a fatty weekend.
A long work day today which should mean, like yesterday, it will be a NSD. 2 days till pay day!!
Have a good day everyone!0 -
Morning :hello:
When you're awkwardly bent down clearing up after your dog and he spies a cat and throws a spinning tantrum, you're impressed you've managed to get yourself upright without being knocked to the ground - then you realise he's managed to pull your shoe off your heel in the process. And you can't bend all the way down to put your shoe back on because your hip is stiff.

I'm going to cancel my milkman. No-one seems to be keeping track of what's owed, I tell them how much when they come to collect the money! A friend's delivery stopped for two weeks then they started delivering again with no explanation. They miss the occasional day which then leaves me short. I had to fill in a form from the police, one of the delivery people was accused of theft – apparantly he'd left the job but was still collecting the money every fortnight. When he collected money from me, he arrived in the delivery truck which was loaded with milk and handed the milk over at the time I paid. So I'm not sure how he managed to borrow their vehicle and milk every fortnight in order to steal, without them noticingBack to supermarket milk for now.
Scampi is in a grump this morning, this means he will hate everything for the rest of the day, lol. He's like this approx. once every three weeks and just wants to be left alone. I was hoping for a long walk today but will have to settle for an amble around the block. I've just washed the towels, it's dry and breezy here so they should dry quickly. I'll be paper shuffling for about an hour then I need to clean the fridge and tidy the kitchen drawers.
