Divorce paper

Hi
I and my ex-wife want to divorce. She is happy to look after all the proceeding papers. So she is the one who will be initiating everything, "asking" for the divorce, with the help of a lawyer.
We are amicable, and really just want to get through it as quickly and bureaucracy-free as possible.
She has initiated the procedure, but so far I haven't received any documentation AT ALL from the court. I should have received something a first time, and then again in case I didn't receive the first... It's been a few months already.
She's worried that if I don't get the papers the process will be postponed, and/or she will lose some or part of the money she's paid already.
Is it possible for me to enquire from the court whether they have sent me anything at all?
What happens if I don't receive the papers?
Thanks

I'd contact the court. Some locations have been reported as having significant delays.
My ex received her papers about two weeks after I posted them, with me receiving confirmation of each step of the process.
As well as the divorce make sure you agree a financial settlement via a consent order. That ensures no future claims either way.0 -
HAs you wife had confirmation from the court that the papers were issued? If so, then ask her to tell you the case number, which will allow the court to check their records and tell you when any papers were sent out to you, check your address and if necessary, send you a duplicate set.
Your wife could also contact the court and ask then to resend the paperwork.
There were big delays following the change from local courts to regional divorce centres but these were, even at the worst, weeksrather than months. And they have been getting better. I would not currently expect delays of more than about 4 weeks in most areas.
If you are saying that the papers have been posted to you twice and you haven't recieved them, then your wife could ask for a duplicae set to be sent to her for her to arrange service, and she can then give them to you.
Have you double checked what address the court is using? All posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)0 -
