So for those of you who don't know, with Lloyds Avios, you get provided with one account, but two cards, MasterCard and American Express, both earn points slightly differently. But points aren't the issue here..
I got the cards to use abroad as I knew I was going to be away for a few months this summer, the cards have proved very handy and I am glad I got them. But whilst still abroad, I fell victim to a suspected internet scam a few days ago, and to stop the payments going through, I had to stop the card. I used the Mastercard so I asked Lloyds Bank to cancel this and order a new one. I'm away for another month and half so I thought I'd survive with just the AMEX card. So the lady made out she was only cancelling the Mastercard by referring to the cancellation as 'IT will be stopped." "You will not be able to reactivate IT" etc..
But then I discovered that both my cards had been stopped. Anyway, I had to get them posted out to me from home in the end..I wrote a complaint this morning and they compensated me with quite a lot of money.
I'm just wondering, should Lloyds have cancelled just my mastercard? Or was there an error and they ended up cancelling both? I just don't know how cancellations work for this service..
