Failed identity check - credit check

I signed up to a car rental service, and they tried to verify my identity through my name, debit card details and address. This failed for some reason maybe due to ne putting Alex instead of Alexandra.

Unaware that they would check my address and identity through experian (this is what i was told they did) i just wanted to know if a failed identity check would affect my credit score as i had earlier that same day had a credit check to sign up to my new tv and broadband supplier (this was successful)

Please help me put my mind at rest

No it wont as its a identity check not a credit search

Car rental company - who already sees your driving licence!

Seems like just about everyone can access the Experian honey pot whenever they like. I'll have to give it a go myself. Talk about data security!
