Gas ignition button stuck on cooker

Hi. I have a fairly new gas cooker in a property I let as a holiday cottage. I have just noticed that the ignition button has been pushed in by someone to light the cookerand is now stuck in the "in" position. Does anyone know if it's mendable and if so how you get it back out again?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Could it be stuck in with grease etc? Can you pop of the button and try to lift the plunger bit up?0

Also try spraying with something like WD40.“Learn from the mistakes of others. You can never live long enough to make them all yourself.”
