Did it have a Kitemark? or CE mark? If so maybe you could report them to to the British Standards agency. http://www.bsigroup.com/en-GB/our-services/product-certification/

My Morphy Richards slow cooker is currently simmering pulled pork. I've had it for 8 years, i use it at least twice a month.

I think yours is just a one off issue, you can't really expect people to not buy one based on your experience.

I know others who have the same model which has lasted a long time too, although reading round there seems to have been others that have failed in a similar way.

It is just that some companies have good customer service, and others do not, which is essential should something go wrong...

So should people wish to buy a product from a manufacturer who values their customers, then probably best not to buy from Morphy Richards, or at least hope nothing goes wrong.

(I spent many years working in manufacturing, and all the companies I worked for took consumer complaints very seriously, hence my surprise that they aren't bothered.)

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Morphy Richards have been around for years, a few poor customer service reports probably won't put people off. For the majority of purchasers they'll never need to use it. I only ever take this into consideration if i'm buying from a brand i've never heard of.

    All sorted now.

Amazon agreed it was clearly faulty and a new one arrived less than 24 hours later. Let's hope this one lasts longer!! Brilliant customer service from Amazon.

I then heard back from Morphy Richards. It appears they cannot ask their design team about the fault because there is no design team - they buy the slow cooker in from a generic supplier and put their brand on it.
