Strange experience whilst shopping in our local homebase store this pm

OH had picked 3 plants, 2 were priced at £6 each and the other at £30, when scanning the £30 plant the price came up as 10pence. The assistant then called to a colleague and asked for help, the reply was " charge them 10 pence and ask them to put something in the Cancer Research box."

Obviously we did as requested, and on asking what had happened our assistant merely smiled and gave a shrug of her shoulders.

    Wasn't home base that did it, was an individual whom most likely failed to perform her duties adequately. Her heart was in the right place but her head wasn't

    Plants in Homebase are being scanned at 10 pence. It was either on this web site or Hotukdeals

    I will leave you to wonder over that,but remember this is a money SAVING forum.

    I do pay a monthly DD to Cancer Research UK. however and have done so for a number of years.
