I need to get hold of Original Certificates for an Irish born grandfather.
Now as the Originals are long gone, I take it copies from
http://www.hse.ie/eng/services/list/1/bdm/Certificates/
and
https://www.gov.uk/order-copy-birth-death-marriage-certificate
are what are required.
Advice given is
Registering a foreign birth
You will need:
Original documents must be submitted in all cases – photocopies or laminates are not accepted

No certificates are 'original' - they are all copies of what is written in the register.
Apply to the official ROs and get a new copy.0 -
So the two links above
http://www.hse.ie/eng/services/list/1/bdm/Certificates/
and
https://www.gov.uk/order-copy-birth-death-marriage-certificate
or the actual registrars office in the towns involved?
Note to self, I was going to start this in January this year......
Due to a significant increase in orders for certificates as a result of the recent referendum in the United Kingdom (UK), the delivery time for certificates from this service will be up to thirty (30) days from the date of order.0 -
You can use either the national ROs or the local ones if that's easier for you.0

Thanks for the reply.
National is easier, will get the process started before the pound drops through the floor against the euro. Got a couple of years at least.0
