Do You Wash Everything on the Same Setting?

On the whole, do you wash everything at the same setting?

Usually I shove everything in on a quick wash, which is either 30° or 40° for 30 mins or so, except tea-towels, which go in at a 90° wash.

Anything else just takes an age - like 2 hours!

Shame there isn't a washing machine with two knobs - temperature and time.

Yes mostly on a 1 hour program at 30 or 40. I do use a hot wash on towels and bed linen but not every time as its about 3 hours long.

We wash everything on 'Synthetic 30'. Whites and colours go in different washes, with the whites getting vanish added to the drawer.

Just a big button that says 'wash' would do.
Never worked out what all the settings are. Everything goes on the 40C, 1hr wash.

Yes, with a few exceptions. We have the default wash - takes school uniform, etc & is 95% of our laundry. (That I get involved in - spouse & offspring all quite competent with the washing device, after years of diligent training.)

The "yikes, wool" wash, so short, cool & careful.

The "ah yes bathtowels" wash - longer, hotter but rare.

Finally the "Oh Hellfire, it's The Bug" wash - which is as close to the traditional boil wash (stick in copper, heat & simmer for several hours, whilst hitting with a stick) as we can get. So far, no evidence of Anything unwanted surviving that...

I use the economy washes - 60 for towels and bed linen, 40 for everything that can take a fast spin.

40 delicate for everything else. If I have a mixture I put them on a 40 delicate then take the delicate stuff out and give the rest a fast spin

No! Normal clothes get put on 40. Towels, hubbys work clothes and bed linen get put on 60. Dogs bedding either 60 or 90. I tend to use the normal wash cycle but if in a desperate hurry I will push the speed perfect button to shorten cycle.

Mine kind of is. There are all the different length washes/spins but the temperature dial is separate so I can put whatever temperature I want on any of the wash settings. Having said that I normally stick with the 40 degree quick wash (60 for whites and slightly festering non delicates) unless something is dirty enough to merit a longer wash.

And more to the point it's not one of those stupid ones that beeps continuously to let you know it's finished. They drive me up the wall.

    I do:

    Lights (clothes/ tea towels/cleaning cloths etc) :40c
    Darks (clothes/jeans etc) :40c
Whites (bedlinen, white towels) :60c or 90c
    Woollens :30c

Most of my wash cycles take 2hrs, except the wool wash which is only 30 minutes. I'd also really like a machine that gives me the option of choosing the temperature and length of wash individually.

I've always used different wash settings.

Most clothes go in on the 30 degree synthetics programme, with the shorter wash option selected.
Towels and bedding 60 degrees (whatever the label says), with the shorter wash option selected.
Socks, acrylics and other stuff 30 degrees delicates wash.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

40 degrees synthetics for everything, occasionally with the quick wash button pushed in.
