Experian

I recently applied for an Equity Release deal on my house only to be refused due to "adverse credit report" this came as a surprise as the Noddle file I printed off and sent to mt IFA was clear.

I subscribed to Experian and found 2 defaults on my account, neither show on Noddle, one on a Barclaycard account and the other Santander.

Barclaycard...default will be removed 01/07/2016 even though owned by Marlin. Have had confusing answers from Experian regarding this account, one saying it will disappear, the other saying I should contact Marlin !!!!!!

Santander....I have had a running battle with this mob, resulting on me going to the ICO who confirmed Santander had breached DPA and the default should be removed. It vanished from Noddle but still shows on Experian even though the revised default date is now 6 years old.

I must say this Credit Reporting seems to be an absolute shambles and seriously needs looked at.

One of the major problems with credit reporting is that there are three agencies operating in the UK. If we, as a country, were sensible about this, there would be just one; a single government-issued licence to run a credit reference agency in the UK, sold to the highest bidder.

Think that is the situation in USA, so my daughter says.

So we move on, Santander were told to remove the default by the ICO and a letter from Santander confirmed it would happen in June 2016, Noddle did this but Experian did not.
A balance on a closed Capital One account is shown as zero on Noddle but in Experian it still shows an outstanding balance of £1600. this default was removed by Capital One after I took them to court for unfair charges, a case I won.
I previously subscribed to Experian at whatever per month, later cancelling the subscription, I have now had to start paying again to get access to my Credit Report.
I might be cynical, but is this a money generating scheme by Experian?

My Noddle credit score has rocketed whereas my Experian is still static, poor admin or just me being too suspicious?

The score doesn't matter, so just ignore it.

Chase Capital One to update your Experian report, or raise it as a dispute with Experian.

You can get your Experian report for £2 if you need to check it

Raised disputes with Experian and have spoken to Capital One directly, Santander are being contacted by ICO, so it is all in hand though very annoying.

How do you get report for £2 ?

You don't need to pay the monthly fee to experian, that's a racket, £2 is all you need for your report

Yes can see the link for £2 report, have raised complaint with Experian, their Overseas e-mail support keeps raising different default/delinquent accounts every week. I get 2 accounts removed due to Statute Barring and then they say it is 2 other accounts, totally inconsistent and worrying, meanwhile credit score remains the same even though over £20K has been removed.

The score didn't matter last week and it still doesn't matter this week.

It'll be just as useless next week, in case you were wondering.

Over to you Experian, sent details last night, you have acknowledged the "Complaint" within 5 days.

"Complaint" was sent to you on 16/07 by letter attached to e-mail, so you are just playing "catch up" now.
