Bush TV suddenly gone haywire

I have a Bush 32" LCD TV never had a problem until yesterday.
Switched on itself but then was okay a good while.
Now I cannot watch TV it turns on and off and if it does stay on for more than a second it just countdowns through tv channels/PC etc and my remote nor the side buttons make it stop!
Closest I have found to just hear a programme is to quickly hit menu button on channel I want to watch when it is counting down. But then I have the big menu box covering most of the screen and that too is rapidly going through picture, sound,tv etc. If I press menu to exit it just goes back to rapid countdown through channels.
I have changed remote batteries and tried an old remote with no joy, TV buttons on side do nothing and I have nothing that is interfering with TV like wifi for example.
I have done the unplugging leads and unplugging TV. Tried DVD player yesterday but that is the same it keeps turning off/on and channel number countdown.
Any help appreciated

Have you been able to try Factory reset .0

Model?
A very quick suggestion without much though - the 'channel down' or channel up' button on the TV might have shorted or got stuck. If you take the TV apart, you may find that the buttons are on a little separate circuit board - if you disconnect the board (losing the use of those buttons obviously) you might get rid of the problem.0 -
