Consequences of moving to fleet insurance?

Hi all
Currently weighing up the pros and cons of changing my insurance at renewal to fleet insurance. Currently I have held insurance in my own name now for 10 years and have built up a nice NCB. However after a breakdown at the weekend, I found my insurance does not cover me for courtesy cars, and in fact when I looked into it, I don't actually believe I am covered for driving other cars at all - something which I naively assumed was covered automatically with Comprehensive cover.
I am already a named driver on my husband's vehicle so he was able to add the courtesy car as a temp vehicle to allow me to get a car for work today, but we are wondering would there be merit in adding my vehicle to the fleet policy once mine comes up for renewal in August? I think it would be a little more expensive but we have found over the course of the year, with name changes and vehicle changes there is no charge, plus we also found they have excellent breakdown facilities (one of the vans)
However would this mean I would lose my NCB?

Why fleet insurance ?
Get a policy that includes a courtesy car and 1 that covers driving other cars.
Have I missed something that's obvious ?0 -
What fleet policy are you talking about? Do you run a company that has a fleet policy to cover company owned cars but you insure your personal car on a separate policy? The answer is to look at the marginal cost of adding another vehicle to the fleet policy, and to compare levels of cover offered. The chances are that you would lose your NCB after 2 years but you'd need to check the policy to be sure.0

Have a look at your VAT status if the fleet policy is for a company.
If you claim, you will have to pay the excess and all of the VAT on the repair charges, and claim the VAT back from HMRC.“And all shall be well. And all shall be well. And all manner of things shall be exceeding well.”

Businesses don't have to "claim back" vat paid out.
They simply deduct it from the vat they collect off their customers and pay only the balance to hmrc.0
