It all depends on which university you are at, and which bursary you are getting.
I do not get my first payment until the end of October.Gone ... or have I?0 -
Thanks for your reply, sorry i meant non- means tested maintenance grant, not bursary. I don't know if this changes anything thoughIf my comment has helped you in anyway... Please press the thanks button!

I think your meant to get the loans and grants 3-5 days after you start. They scan the finance letter which you take to the university when you start and then send the money through a bank transfer.0

If your payments are to be made via BACS (Bank Automated Clearing System) you can expect the payment to be in your account within 3-5 working days of your Higher Education Institution (HEI) confirming your attendance

My uni never scan anything and never have in the three years i've been there.
Mine usually comes in the weekend before the term starts. But this time it is a week into the term and i don't know when my loan will come in because they've messed it up!Student MoneySaving Club member 0210 -
If you're a new student at the university, it'll be a few days after you register and they've seen your payment scheduale etc. If you're continuing, you normally get it a few days before the start of term because you will have registered online/via post before term starts. If, like me last year, you have to register once you start back it'll be a few days later...unless you're uni forgets to tell SLC that you've registered and then you'll get it when you complain!0

Haha youll be VERY lucky to get it before!!
When I enrolled last year I had to hand my student finance form in, we then all waited for 3 WEEKS!!! before they gave us our money. Apparently this is normal!
Hoping a bit earlier this year as Im rather skintAnd works been a bit short on the hours, so not much cash coming in.
