Advice Urgently Needed

in Credit cards
I transferred a credit card balance to a new Capital One card onine this evening. Everything went through OK and I was able to transfer £1200. However, on the final page it said my credit limit would be £200. Advice is urgently needed as I do not want to incur fees for being over my limit before I have even got the card! If they were only willing to give me a £200 credit limit, then why did they allow me to transfer £1200? I've tried to find an email address for them, but there is only one for suspicious emails. Advice would be greatly appreciated.

I doubt a BT for £1200 will go through if they have only given you a £200 limit.0

Don't worry.
It sounds to me that they asked you, as part of the online application process, how much you would like to transfer. You did not actually do the transfer - you told them what you wanted. Subsequently they gave you a lower limit. So either they won't do the transfer at all, or they will transfer a reduced amount such that it's within your limit.0 -
Phone them as been suggested in your other thread.0

Thanks zx81 and chatty chappy. DCFC79, I've been trying to get this sorted out via phone since 8am this morning. The first person I spoke to said he was unable to do anything as I could not give him my card number, only an application reference number. I then called another line he gave me that deals directly with applications. It took me 20 min to get through to actually talk to someone, then they put me on hold for 10 min, after which I was cut off...0

Finally got through. They have cancelled the transfer and account.0

Oh why cancel the account? Even a smaller transfer amount could have reduced the interest you are already paying...0
