Sky cards have a ID that needs to match up with the sky box ID.
Thus preventing from dodgy cards etc. Dunno how you would go about doing it though.....sorry.0 -
yes, I thought so as well but when I asked sky if they needed the digibox number they just said to insert in the slot and it would automatically read ithalf scottish half italian :100%moneysaver0

i thought the new freesat cards was not tied to a box? did you get the card from sky? if so ring them up and see what they say.0

What receiver is it?0

I have one of these as well as a normal sky card. To use it I generally have to insert it and register it via the phone link. Works great after that. Only problem is that Freeview is better/better value than Sky if you're not paying.0

hi it's a pace receiver and sky definitely told me that I don't have to phone up or anythiing it should just activate itself on insertionhalf scottish half italian :100%moneysaver0

Definately dont need activation, any latest issue sky card will get freesat channels in any box wether card is registered or not. Message about not our property seems strange, seems like your box isnt recognising it as an official Sky smartcard.0
