Buying a used car
I am saving for a deposit for a car and will get the rest on finance. I am interested in either a Corsa or Fiesta although will consider a Clio or 206
I have looked on the Ford site and on the Vauzhall site and have struggled to find something close to home which sells the relevant car (must be an automatic)
Should I look into a dealership which sells other cars as well as what I want? I want somewhere where I can get Finance and I trust the company / garage / dealership I am using

You don't say where you are, but Reg Vardy, Arnold Clark, Evans Halshaw and Douglas Park are all large dealerships (Park is franchised, not sure about others) so you should be able to find something you like between the 4 of them.
Keen photographer with sales in the UK and abroad.
Willing to offer advice on camera equipment and photography if i can!0 -
Evans Halshaw and Arnold Clark have branches throughout the UK i think.
Douglas Park is local to Lanarkshire and Glasgow.
I think Reg Vardy may have been taken over by Evans Halshaw.

Couple of things Lucy...
You say it MUST be auto - does this mean you've taken test & passed in auto, or just prefer them to drive?
If you've NOT taken the test, I'd strongly suggest you do it in a manual, asit'll make things easier in the future, if you need to borrow/use another car.
Finance - you'll be able to PROBABLY source it from the Cards/Loans tips at the top of the site, at better rates, so do compare, when the time comes.
& if you do a Google search for Motability dealers - you'll find several that sell cars from this fleet. They are the people who lease cars to people with disabilities/mobility problems & are mostly low mileages & a few months-3years old. They have THE BIGGEST choice of small autos on their fleet than anyone.
Consider buying from auction, as this is where they are sold through - I realize this isn't easy, if you don't know what to do/how to do it, but it is possible! Msg me if you like!

I passed my test in a manual but would prefer an automatic. I would get a loan but because I am temping, noone will give me one!0 -
you are correct Reg Vardy has been taken over by the Evil empire known a Pendragen who own Evans Halshaw and Stratstone to name a couple. There are plenty of places that specialise in automatics just do a google search0

Small automatics are always in demand, they are often quite rare and more money when compared to the manual model.
I buy cars for people and within the past few days picked up a Smart ForFour (big one) for a local chap, this model is available as an automatic although I got him a manual. It was just over a year old and was one of the top spec Passion models, fully loaded and with twin sunroofs for much less than 6k and with almost 3 years warranty remaining. Poor fella that sold it had lost almost 6k inside a year because Smart had stopped selling them.
It was a serious bargain, drove like a much bigger car, was very well made, well specified, unique (love it or hate it) and they do automatics.
Insurance was a very low group, he has 6 points for due care and 2 yrs ncd, cost £260 fully comp.
Can I suggest you look outside the mainstream for a small auto, you might be surprised, when it came to the Forfour I know I was.0
