Dates for travel insurance

Hi,
I have a stupid question, which I just cant figure out the answer
I am going away for a week in September, Saturday to Saturday evening flights both ways. I have got a week's travel insurance to cover the period. I am due to land in the UK at 22:30.
What happens if my flight is delayed by 4 hours, and I do not get in til 2:30 on the Sunday morning? What happens if I am taken ill when I am at the airport, shoud I get 8 day's cover just to be sure?
I just can't get my head around this, logically I would say that I am not to know that my flight would be delayed and I would still be covered, but you never know.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks
Candy

For a single trip policy, you just enter the travel dates as you booked them. The policy will still cover you, if travel is delayed a bit. As long as the cover dates matches your booking. If you fall ill while away and a Doctor says you are unfit to travel ( get written confirmation), you phone the emergency line to advise them and the cover is normally extended. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0

You'll be covered if you are delayed.0

Check the wording carefully.
My policy (annual) is only extended due to death, injury or illness. Flight delay is not given as a reason for free extension.0 -
Annual different than single trip though0
