You view box through Xbox 360

Any way I can connect it this way? I've moved out of my flat where I had it connected to the bt broadband router and it is now located away from the router in the new place. Both the Xbox and you view boxes have Ethernet sockets so assumed I could connect it by plugging the Ethernet into the Xbox and the you view, however when I do this it cuts the Internet connection to the Xbox and the youview connection dies.
Any idea how to sort this?

Do you mean you are plugging the youview directly into the xbox??
Networking doesnt work like that, you cant expect to piggyback the youview off the xbox's wifi connection by plugging into it..
the youview will have to be wired down to the router itself, or use telephone extensions to move the router up to the youview, or use a powerline kit!!0 -
just get a hub.
Feed the router connection to this, then connect the xbox etc to that.
eg

Now this is a basic model. Whether you want gigabit speeds etc is up to what you run on the network.0 -

Where would this need to be physically located?
I have one of these http://www.gadgethelpline.com/bt-launches-home-hub-4-router-dual-band-technology/

it will, but you will have to run a cable for each item.
Using the switch you run one cable, then the hub gives you the extra connections at the end.
depends on what you want/can fit.
Downstairs we do exactly that,4 ethernet cables directly from the router like you have.
Upstairs I have a homeplug into a hub.0 -

Power line kit looks to be a good option; so, plug one in where the router is and plug in an Ethernet cable to it from router and then plug one in in my room and attach to youview box?0 -
