Solar Panel Problems.

Could you ask the HO for a copy of the builder's written report? This might be an interesting read - not!0

A good next step would be to get some independent evidence and then get the HO a chance to get it resolved. Clearly your visitor did no good whatsoever! The presumption here is still that the solar system is at fault, of course, but the action may help to provide evidence of that or force the HOs hand.
Try contacting the television and radio interference service http://www.radioandtvhelp.co.uk.
Tell the HO that is what you are going to do and if evidence points towards them as responsible you will take the matter to Ofcom.0 -
Good idea about the written report.
I've tried Googling and cannot see anywhere that suggests the panels could be the cause - even though it clearly is - and the HA seem to want proof in writing. Not sure where I can get evidence from other than them coming and looking.
Will have a look at the link too. Thank you both.0 -

Would your HO be Waterloo Housing, by any chance? If so, I am not surprised!I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.

Just a few words of explanation:
The solar panels will be generating a probably 'clean' DC current but the inverter will be digitally controlling the conversion to mains voltage ac current and it is more likely that unit which produces the interference on the mains. There are systems that will measure and record the AC waveform, voltages etc .
It is possible that the panels have a fault but most competent engineers would look for the obvious first and see if the unit complies with it's requirements.
In the meantime, if you have a radio receiver that could also indicate if interference is being generated but should only be used as a guide.0 -

Thank you Ainsley1. Radio Receiver? Might need to explain what you mean by that as I really am not tecno minded. If you mean as in Ham radio, no we don't have one. If you mean as in DAB Radio, then yes we do and it is very hit and miss with signal.0

I should add the Solar Panels are Growatt which I believe are from China.0

...just an 'old fashioned'radio is best on medium wave!
Digital equipment such as dab tend to be OK or not OK depending on signal level compared to any 'interference' and do not necessarily therefore show up high levels of interference.
It could be your interference is mains borne rather than just radiated too but if your dab radio hit and miss is also caused by the solar system....just more evidence.
Some routers or WiFi receivers also can, via software, show signal levels and noise (interference) levels as possible evidence but I believe you are best calling in the professional engineers for advice.0 -
Wifi keeps dropping out. But we are with BT who are not the best supplier.
HA called yesterday and will not accept our word that the cause is the solar panels so want proof from elsewhere.
No idea how we can get proof other than someone seeing it.0
