Wrong application - should I cancel and reapply ?

Options
Just wondering, I applied the Lloyds Premier Avios Rewards Card Account online which was actually principally approved but they had an error (I was told they had problems that day when I phoned to check) and the application ended up being abandoned due to this (never had any confirmation email etc) - I was told to phone back to follow up but they can't seem to do much about it and told me just to reapply again (a credit search has been recorded in my experian account).

I phoned up today to clarify this and I was told that this recorded credit search isn't detrimental to my account but what annoys me is that they obviously need to do another search again which will be marked on my account! I then ended up opening a Lloyds Bank Choice Rewards Credit Card Account by mistake on the phone (yes I am an idiot lol) and only realised that it isn't the original card I wanted to apply for after I hung up. The guy basically told me that the documents will be sent out for me to have it signed etc. before a card would be issued anyway.

So just wondering, if I want to cancel this application, I know there will be a credit search record on my file. How long should I wait after I phone up to cancel my application before I can go ahead and reapply the card of my choice which is Lloyds Bank Choice Rewards Credit Card Account ? Would it be sensible to just apply it online now (i.e. 2 applications - the one via the phone and this one online) or should I wait until my other phone application is fully cancelled ? Is there a cool off period before I should reapply ? Bearing in mind that I am not reapplying due to a declined application but an error in their system.

They used to have a rule that you had to wait 6 months before the closure of one credit card before opening another one.
This was however before they allowed you to have more than one card.
