Open Claim on house insurance but want to change insurers

Just under a year ago my dog bit a delivery driver to my house and he has raised a claim against me. I informed both my house and pet insurers as both have 3rd party liability insurance. My pet insurance (Pet Plan) have taken the claim forward but have said if there is any payout made they will seek to get at least some from my house insurers. Since my insurers have said they will fight the claim as it was not our fault we have heard nothing off the 3rd party in nearly 10 months!
Now my house insurance is due for renewal and I wish to shop around, is this possible with an open claim still?

Yes.
You will have to disclose the open claim when applying to other insurers0
