Travel Insurance Question

I recently had a health check at my local surgery where for some unknown reason my heart rate was really low. The doctor suggested I should go for an ECG to rule out a heart murmur. I then monitored my heart rate for a few weeks and it never happened again so I didn't get the ECG and I feel completely fine. What I am worried about is that this information is now on my medical records. Will this invalidate any travel insurance I may get?

It will be on your records
So answer truthfully all the health questions and any assumptions you are asked to agree to being correct0 -
Don't arrange cover online, as you might not be able to explain on an online form what the situation was exactly.
Best to phone Insurers and have a conversation where you can explain better. Make sure you keep a full record of date/time of phone call, who you to spoke to and what was agreed. Even better record the telephone call if you can and keep a copy. insurers record calls but they are not always available later.
If the Doctor suggested an ECG and you never bothered, it means you might have this on Doctors record. If you had a heart attack on holiday and the Insurers obtained your Doctors records, you might have questions raised. To be on the safe side, i would suggest that you ask the Doctor to note your record that you have checked your heart rate regularly and it has been normal. Therefore unless they feel it necessary you don't think an ECG is necessary. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0
