Insuring an empty property

My friends Nan has had to go into permanent elderly residential care. Therefore her house for the time being needs to be insured as an empty property. Does anyone know the best companies to insure the Building only?
Thanks

Best would be the one it is currenlty insured with.
Insurers do not like empty properties full stop and are unlikely to quote for such business unless there is a commercial reason to do so, e.g. policyholder has been with them 10 years and good claims record.
If you do get cover you will be asked to disconnect all services except electrical circuits for intruder alarms. You will also be asked to seal letterboxes and inspect property at least once a week. In some areas (generally inner city) you may also be asked to board up windows.0 -
The insurers will also exlcude wet perils damage, e.g. storm, flood and burst pipe claims.
Are there any relatives who could move in or house sit pending sale? It really is the best solution all round.0
