Can others help with compiling an accurate list.

The real problem is that we are all quite ignorant of our local and national economy. We have very little knowledge of what gets produced behind the factory or office walls of the places we drive past on a daily basis or where it gets sold or traded. We might understand the global significance of our own industry but rarely that of our neighbours. Add to that the relatively high proportion of the population that works for the local service sector (both governmental and private) and we have quite a disconnect from understanding the local significance of global forces.

We really need to be involved in things like the Hardware Accelerator programs out there.

JV's with something like the HAX in Shenzen. The HAX is the kind of place where the next generation of product will emerge from.

I personally pay particular attention to the 3D imaging development space, but the entry price for true entrepreneurial experimentation is still too steep.

It's a pretty exciting world outside the EU. Development does not stop just because we have our problems.

    Woking.

50% of the company is owned by the Bahrain Royal Family though. So profit goes overseas not reinvested in the UK.

Actually you know more than me,
But then you assume so much.
Do you know if Maclaren pay a dividend and then that dividend is paid out and the cash taken out of the country.
But why should I bother Thrugelmir to carry on with any explanation as you know best.

Sorry, Thrugelmir, I have come back to my post to edit. Not to change it but to soften it.
Yes you may be angry that there is a 50% foreign owner of Maclaren a world beating British brand.
However that is where we are not where we would like to be.
It may be that Maclaren are being forced, by their 50% foreign owners to pay very high dividends that are unsustainable and are undermining the future prosperity of the company. I don't know that.
You may be able to help explain the situation.

However the present division in our society is because too many people including you see Foreign = bad. White English = good.
There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.

There used to be a good market for Staffordshire pottery, but outsourcing abroad ,resulting in an inferior product, lead to company closures and loss of trade. (eg beautifully sculpted Beswick figurines were replaced by items which could be produced by a not very artistic school child).

According to Companies House, McLaren has not paid a dividend in the last couple of years. It is 50% owned by Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company, 25% by a (UK?) individual and 25% by TAG Group Ltd.

That's an assumptive statement that I take offence to. Travel to the Middle East for example, see how the Indians and Filipinos are treated in places such as Doha. 3rd class would a relative statement. The world as a whole is far from perfect.

Hasn't won a F1 Championship for some years. Also prize money will be shared on finishing positions in both drivers and constructors. Which probably accounts for the loss in 2014. More successful a team the more sponsorship it can command as well. A plaything for the super rich only as there's no guarantee of a return.

I don't know enough about the company to comment, I was just trying to provide some data to answer the previous question. Important to note that McLaren Group has a number of sub-companies across a range of related activities. To fully understand the company, you would need to spend time looking at the individual accounts and ownership stake to see if the Group had 100% ownership or if there were dividends being paid out to private individuals from them. You also need to look at any loan charges to and from these individuals and in turn know more about their related holdings to get a clear picture. I would imagine the finances of the group are much more complex than profitability simply being based on winning or losing races, albeit that the underlying reputation rises or falls with their on-track success.

However, your point about overseas ownership of playthings in UK has links back to the OP's question, given the importance of European owners making net losses on the running of sporting estates in Scotland. It is a matter for political debate whether this is a good or bad thing or whether there might be any impact on this from Brexit.
