Went up the hill yesterday, I was doing my best to keep Scampi's nose safe from bumps in case he split it open again – plus I was trying to make sure he didn't get any dirt in it - but soon gave up when he dived into the bushes then tried to bury his head in the ground :D

The new grass has been growing well for three weeks so the old chicken fence has been pulled down. It's in a heap on the patio at the moment, I expect it'll stay there for the next fortnight, lol. It left a stripe of earth across the garden so that's been covered with grass seed and watered well. It rained overnight so no gardening for me today. I'll potter about in the greenhouse for a while though. I have a couple of loads of washing to do, the lines are actually empty so I'll be able to hang it outside. The mini-mes have a habit of hanging their washing out then leaving it there for days, very annoying. I haven't checked my bills for a while, time to see if there's anyone cheaper for me.

  • Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.

Woke this morning at 7am with OH saying we have a power cut the clock is flashing.........came through and found lights etc and the stove working also the light in the hall, decided it was something to do with the power socket ring main, so rang for help. its now 12 minutes past 10 and no sign of anyone. I went into the meter cupboard, on of the switches was down, switched it up and it clicked straight off again. Managed breakfast thanks to the cooker being on the 30amp socket.

Just went through into the hall a couple of minutes ago and thought I would try again, bingo it has stayed up......no idea what the problem was, I had previously pressed the reset button, but that did not work either. So I do think we need the circuits testing.

Expecting DD2 on the 10.30 bus. OH is in a bowls tournament, so out all day. I will get a bit of peace.

    Morning all,

Nice bright day here but the clouds are looking a bit black over yonder, I have a towel load on the line and my work clothes in the wm, DD has loads of washing to do and OH will put his work clothes in later he washes his separately as they are so mucky !

Its Goodwood festival of speed here this weekend and the roads are always gridlocked so we stay local to avoid the traffic, I do have to pop to the shops for a few bits though.

Thanks for all the good wishes, I met the new manager yesterday and she seemed really nice, I am looking forward to working with her (and handing over the big pile of stress :D )

We need to have a good clean through this morning but with the three of us it wont take long.

I ordered some more Arum lily's for the front garden so I will get them in today, I have one in the front garden which has grown massive and is beautiful, they are so easy to care for and look so nice which is my type of gardening !

Have lovely days all, and Hilstep hope you feel better soon xx

    Hi everyone,

Gloriously sunny here but it's meant to rain later. I have a parcel to take to the post office, so will go shortly. Sat next to DS1 as he drove to work (he is learning) and he did really well this morning. Praise where praise is due. He is still grounded though....apart from his Saturday job which he needs.

I agree with JackieO that a sense of perspective is needed. I worked in the city before I had the children - DH too. The markets and currencies are forever changing and its normal that this will be more volatile when major events happen. Things will stabilise, we just have to keep calm.

It would've been payday for DH today, so I've transferred over some savings to take us through the month. Will need a top up shop today or tomorrow as we are low on a few bits. Our dog is eating our strawberries Gers - as if I didn't have enough to cope with fighting off the birds!

    Have a good day all

  • Good Morning everyone, I've just been down to the village hall for the Sea Scouts jumble sale and this time I found an indoor smokeless grill for £1.50. a lovely virtually new 'Tigger' M&S dressing gown aged 3-4 for the Zebra for 30p, a lovely stainless steel triple candle holder for 50p, 4 Zebra books for 10p each and a copper bottomed Prestiege saucepan and lid for £1. A good and useful haul!

I've just made cauliflower and stilton soup for lunch and the housework is done and I only have the ironing to do now. He Who Knows is on the allotment, the weeds have GROWN in the week we were away and will be dealt with this morning. Thank goodness for a decent nights sleep in my own bed, my aches from Zebra wrangling are less than they were and it's nice to be back in routine again.

Have yourselves a nice day, Lyn xxx.

Morning all, I hope you are all well.
I haven't posted for a few days. Did you miss me :rotfl:
ancientofdays I have also had to stay away from Facebook. It is what it is and the majority have spoken . But I am worried and will try to just get on with whatever the future holds for all of us. Xx
Dumpling I hope you enjoyed your breakfast. Xx
Hilstep I hope you are feeling better. That must have been very scary for you.xx
LaineyT I hope stilly is ok today.xx
Hester it looks like you slept later, Enjoy your busy day xx

Today I will be fairly lazy, whilst doing some bits. Yesterday, the emotional referendum results wore me out. For me, it's not so much about the economy rather than the dislike that was shown for immigrants, in the referendum.

Eldest son came down from Glasgow and slept in youngest sons bed. So I and Ys slept downstairs. We slept around 1am  but I had to get up at 6am to take DD to her new job at Waitrose. So far she is enjoying it. She worked her first proper day on Thursday when the new store opened. She is 17 and chuffed to bits to be earning. Waitrose do seem so far, to be very good employers. She is on par wage wise with people of all ages.

No idea what dinner will be. I am trying to eat better. I eat too much bread so am omitting a lot of carbs from my meals when possible. As a child, we were brought up with a lot of bread and potatoes to fill us up. That's a hard habit to break.
I hope everyone has a good Saturday. Hugs to those that need one. Xx

My lazy day lasted about two hours!

Post Office first thing to send off parcels to my nephew in Birmingham and a little present for a friend in Darlington who is about to jump ship from her full time job and go into her own business.

Then I visited the neighbours in the big house who I was helping yesterday to return some paperwork. I hung out two loads of washing as the weather was bright sunny and blowy, and then then one of the neighbours drove round with a bottle of gin for me. :j

OH phoned from Orkney, long call about his 'doings' there and my 'doings' here.

Think I'll try out that gin.
