Fly vlm

Hi All,

I had flights to Ireland booked with Belgium Airline, Fly VLM, and was informed a few weeks ago the route was cancelled, arranged a refund (and got a receipt) and booked new flights on another airline.

They said refund would take 14 days (which I took to be working days, which takes us to today), however, no refund to my credit card. On looking for their customer service number today, I found they announced bankruptcy yesterday.

As this was paid on my MBNA credit card, am I correct in saying they will refund me? Looking for some reassurance as I've found this out after hours and I apparently cannot speak to anyone at MBNA until Monday now.

Thanks

Yes, speak to mbna on Monday and they should get the money back to you.

I've just read that Section 75 only pays back "single" items over £100. Each flight leg was under £100 so I guess I am stuffed?

Probably but it's worth a phone call.

You bought a return flight which I assume cost more than £100, don't even mention the concept of single flights. MBNA are not the easiest to deal with, being an American Bank they seem amazed we should have such protection but we do, so demand it

Just an update for those that replied - MBNA said they won't even need to go down the Section 75/legal route as I received a refund receipt, so it's currently in dispute and they seemed confident the money would be credited back to my account by the end of next week. Fingers crossed!
