in Credit cards
Hi,
Hoping someone could help me as I am very stressed right now and can't seem to find the right information. Today, I did something I never do and purchased a lottery deal on Lottoland and used my credit card to pay the 99p, without knowing all the terms and conditions (I know I'm stupid).
Well I know I will be charged £3 for this but I have read on this forum that I will also be charged interest on this unless I pay it off straight away. What I was unclear on is whether I need to pay off my WHOLE credit card amount (which is unfortunately quite a lot right now) or just the transaction + fee + any interest? I am really freaking out right now and would really appreciate any help I can get!
:(

Pay off 10 quid and you will be in clear, that should take care of all the charges and interest for a day.0

So I definitely don't need to pay off my full credit card balance? I read a thread here where people were saying you pay off your purchases first, before the cash advance and started panicking!0

Not that I know off, and I occasionally made some nominal cash withdraws with capital one and barclay card (usually because I needed 10-20 quid cash and have forgotten my debit). Then just paid that sum and it was a-ok.
But if you are uncertain just give the company a call.0 -
Ok, I have spoken to someone at Santander and they've said I just need to pay the 99p + fee + interest and that's all. So hopefully I'm in the clear! Thank you for your advice, really hope this is definitely the case for my credit card.0

But if you don't pay off your credit card each month aren't you paying interest anyhow?loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.0

Not if rest of the balance is on promotional rate0

Not at all, you're not the first tripped up by this. Especially now with contactless, I'm sure many people, in the heat of the moment, will slap down a CC for a 99p ticket. Increasingly a £3 charge for this kind of transaction looks ridiculous.0 -

Luckily I have 23 months interest free on purchases!chattychappy wrote: »Not at all, you're not the first tripped up by this. Nice to know I'm not the only one. Really never do this and I am usually VERY against playing the lottery but thought I'd give it a go, ha! At least I've learnt from this!0
