The vendors agent just called us, which is odd as they have been nothing but snooty throughout. If we needed anything from them we have had to practically threaten to camp out at the agency..... including arranging the original viewing!

Apparently they were just 'checking in' making sure things were moving along to OUR satisfaction - which is an a amazing turnabout in their level of service. They sounded harassed and then totally relived when we said we were fine and happily waiting for searches and surveys to come through. I have a feeling the vendor wanted confirmation that things were still on a even keel and was pushing them to call us.

I will be honest, I was 100% set on this house but I am now having MASSIVE collywobbles, Its at the top of my budget and I am worried I am about to buy when the market could suddenly implode - which would just be my luck.
Please note I have a cognitive disability - as such my wording can be a bit off, muddled, misspelt or in some cases i can miss out some words totally...

You need to think about your potential financial position in a year or two. If this is the top of your budget unless it is your dream forever home then I'd be looking to cut my offer to get some financial breathing space.

Nobody is going to look after you but you.

Let me get this straight, people (especially young FTB) have been struggling so much to buy a house and have been paying way over what they should ever have to and all of a sudden if they pull out with the aim of buying something cheaper and probably closer to the actual price it should go for and that makes them dishonourable?

    +1

Sellers have been ripping people off now the table have totally turned.

People should offer 20% less than what its WORTH or sit it out. The economy is not getting better for the foreseeable

There are also many reductions today! But the real drops will come slowly...months not weeks

No reductions here in the southwest, gone up if anything!

Some on here should consider joining up to HPC.

Plenty of posters on there "sitting it out", waiting for house prices to drop, they've been waiting years . . .

I'm in a city in the southwest.
Prices shot up in March and April and started to slow mid way through June.
    Starting to see reductions now.
I expect prices to fall. People don't like uncertainty, and there will be impact on jobs.

I don't think there will be the crash that they are dreaming of, but I expect to see falling prices.
Same as the recession I expect.
If they think prices are going to crash to a quarter of what they are now they are in dreamland.

I think several members of HPC are already on here are doing a good job at stirring concern among sellers and buyers. I'd like prices to fall a little to make the next move up slightly easier but spreading lots of stories about mates pulling out of purchases isn't an ethical way of doing it. Let true demand and supply set the price.
