ESA assessment decision timescales?

Hi, I'm in the support group and had my esa assessment 2 weeks ago today. The last one I had around October 2015 only took 11 days to find out the result, my PIP assessment in January took 8 days to find out the result.
I'm a bit concerned as my assessment was only 15 minutes and then the lady said she had enough information and would fill the rest of her form in with info from my esa50??
Does anyone have any information on how long decisions are taking at the moment? Worried sick, hair is falling out like crazy! I would ring but due to my health problems can't speak on the phone and they're closed by time my family get home.

hello,
take a deeeeeeeep breath, because it may be a while.
i had to wait 5 weeks for mine last desicion i think, (as a completely random benchmark).
i asked in a thread about timeframe from esa50 > being called in, and it was 5-14 weeks i think, anecdotally, so you could imagine there would be a comparitive processing time (although obviously have no idea about the infra-structure of the dwp) potentially to get a desicion, although could be less.
(it's supposed to be highly variable by geographic location)
also, i was advised, that there is not much point to ring them, as need to wait for the documents to process and be marked on the system, befor they can tell you approximate times.
(so by the time they know about it, you should recieve a letter, pretty soon afterwards (because that's "admin" ("sending letters") and not "processing" ("casework") if that makes sense ?)
i think.
could i ask how long you had to wait from sending off your esa50 > 10th june please ?
(to keep my own "impatience" going ?)
thankyou!!0 -
unfortunately there's no national time scale. it goes by locality so times can differ greatly depending on your local offices case load. They usually know straight away because the report is input into the DWP's portal system, but a DM needs to verify the award level so no call handler will give you the information you crave until its been awarded.0

Daisychains - based on an ESA assessment I attended in support of a friend 4 months ago ..... in Yorkshire , they heard back (successfully) in 2 months. You may be encouraged to hear that the Healthcare Professional (HP) also said that they had enough info. As far as I am aware, and I offer no guarantees, but that response is generally interpreted as meaning you have already earned enough decriptor points to stay in Support Group. The HP will have wanted to move on to another assessment and earn some more money for themselves.0

That's put my mind at rest a little - thank you0
