What is going to happen to UKIP?

There is no way UK will replace Labour, they may have succeeded in seriously damaging the Labour Party by appealing to the lowest common denominator but when the dust settles and people realise where UK loyalties really are they will lose support with the working class.
Labour were in turmoil when Milliband resigned. The Blair\Brown alliance simply papered over the deep divisions within the party. Blair brought on board the new middle classes. Corbyn alienated them overnight.
Time for a new Labour party. David Milliband perhaps. Noticeable that Chuka Umunna was nowhere to be seen during the debate.
As for the Tories. I'm thinking Theresa May for PM.
Sajid Javid as the new Chancellor.0 -
Until we actually leave, I don't think Ukip nor Farage are going anywhere.
I wouldn't be surprised if Mad Merkel delays & delays the negotiations, forever bogged down in bureaucracy as they are, until 2020 when the next GE occurs and by then the economy will purposely be in the doldrums.
By that point the electorate will slavishly vote for a pro-EU party/leader after years of a complicit media running down the Leavers, and we'll decide we want to Remain after all."The only man who makes money from a gold rush is the one selling the shovels..."0 -
I was listening to 5 live about 3 hours ago whilst walking the dog & for once the members of the public were reasonably sensible either side of the debate. I lost reception & when it came back a few mins later we'd gone back to some tiresome class warrior ranting about the Tories etc. It took me a minute (genuinely) to realise they'd cut to Corbyn making his speech. He really does come across as nothing but a 70s relic.
He was full of reasons why he was voted to lead the party too. He seems to badly misunderstand the situation. The fact is, he was voted in at the time because people, even Labour supporters, utterly hated the Labour party. A vote for him was a vote against Nulabor. His entire position as leader is a protest vote - by his own membership against their party.0 -

Merkel has an election next September.
Let's see what the German people think. Going to be some shocks I suspect.0 -
Does society need a party which positions itself differently on how to divide the spoils of the economy between the employers and the employed? There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0

Difficult to see how it would work. Entreprenuers need to be rewarded for taking risk. Little point in working 60 hour weeks for nothing.
Labour markets are now global. For semi skilled and low skilled work there's plenty of people who want the money. Over 2.5 billion people have joined the labour market since 1990. India and China accounting for the vast majority.0 -
UKIP will remain relevant as the Leave voters are about to find out that all those referendum commitments on immigration were a load of rubbish.0

How about Farage will be 'sent' to the Lords. New leader Carswell will be given a seat in a BoJo brexit cabinet? The highest form of ignorance is when you reject something you don't know anything about.
