Hey All.
Just looking for some advise, and tips. I just passed my test last week and now looking at getting a car. I will need to get a 7 seater for my 4 children which is effecting the premiums.. I am 26 and the premiums from price comparison sites are around 4k a year. is this something that will have to accept and bite the bullet or a few years, or is there a better way to do this?
Thanks

Your premium will be high as you have just passed your test and are, in fact , still learning. Also, a vehicle carrying more passengers is more of a risk, should compensation for an accident be sought.0

Have you tried various 7 seaters?
Could you manage with a 6 seater0 -
Choose the right car, just because ones a group 10 and another is a group 15 wont always mean the higher rated one will cost more.
What cars are you looking at? With my daughters quotes a car over 10 years old increased the premium.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
This was my understanding, and was happy to accept this, I just want to be sure there wasn't an alternative, I guess similar to Classic Car insurance.Your premium will be high as you have just passed your test and are, in fact , still learn
I have looked at the Zafira, C-Max, C4, V70, and Sedona.Have you tried various 7 seaters?
I wasn't even aware that was a thing... I will look at some of these and look at premium quotes. thanks!Could you manage with a 6 seater
They varied in ages, but thinking at the ones I test, most, perhaps all were older than 10 years.. which is only 2006 (that was 10 years already?!) thanks for that tip! With my daughters quotes a car over 10 years old increased the premium.

A good local broker may be able to get you an introductory discount?
Have you gone through the other options in the MSE car insurance guide, as well as the comparison sites?0
