Alternative to Storage Heaters?

Hi all,

I'm looking at buying a property that has storage heaters. I hopefully will have enough spate can to look at an alternative.

Had anyone ever changed them? If so what for?

I've seen articles about Quantum heaters. Are they any good?

Thanks in advance...

  • If there's gas it would definitely be better to have central heating IMO?

There's a lot of electronics (& moving parts) in Quantum heaters. I won't be getting any myself, as likely they will be redundant in 15 years. I can still buy parts for traditional storage heaters that are over 30 years old, & get them going again.

Stick with the storage heaters IIWY.

We have in the last year purchased quantum storage heaters and very very please with them for our home here in France....In Uk central heating would be the choice 100%...Here in France we have log burners as a normal type of heating and had electric heating in each room but storage heaters with night time half price electric is the cheaper option which we chose after a lot of consideration.

Quantum heaters are storage heaters - with a built-in peak rate convector heater and a fancy control system, but still at heart a storage heater. And they may need some additional control wiring as well as an off-peak and peak supply.

Worth considering if you need new heaters, but not worth discarding working heaters for, I think.
