RingGo - ticket whilst paying

Hi
I recently paid for parking using one of those fairly new apps, RingGo.
But, when I got back to my car was ticketed and the informal appeal has been rejected.
I'm wondering if an appeal is worth it?
So - in a sense, it's true, I didn't have a valid ticket at 9.17 and didn't until 9.26... but there's a 10 minute grace period for returning to the car and, of course, somewhere there will be a record of my attempting to make the initial payment.
I don't want to waste emotional energy on this - but the mean spirited nature of the rejection really !!!!ed me off!!
Would I be wasting my time to appeal? If you do think I should appeal, are there any substantial grounds I can base the appeal on?
Thanks for any thoughts

- Parked at 9.15. Paid using RingGo as I walked off.
- Payment was reject (insufficient funds in my account)
- I noticed the rejection a minute or so later and called my bank to transfer money into the account.
- Paid for an hours parking using RingGo
- But, little did I know, at 9.17 I'd been spotted and ticketed in the same minute
- My RingGo payment didn't start till 9.26

You don't give enough info at this stage regarding the company etc, but no matter.
Read up first in the newbies faq thread towards the top of the forum on what to do and when.
Obviously this forum would say don't pay!
Only you know the cost to you in emotional energy if you decide to follow the advice when you read up on this!0 -
From the other side:
I didn't intend to pay and left the car but then spotted "xyz" giving the car a ticket so tried to avoid it by making a payment.
(not saying that was the case or makes the charge right)0 -
The OP has not said if this is a private PCN or a penalty from a Council. If it is a Council then the appeal procedure is different.
If it's private, then it's unlikely that the signs set a time/deadline to make the Ringo payment so there is no time limit to pay, in the contract. Ergo = no contravention (but other points of appeal are also available and should be used).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
