At the minute I cant see myself upgrading to the "S" or Scorpio, well I may do but a year or 2 after scorpio is released, hopefully I'll have a 4k TV by then to make it worth having a Scorpio.

I suppose it depends on what you would want it for. For me, I would like VR, but I'm not clambering over the masses for it. The PS4 one will be limited in performance as they are rushing it out on their own hardware. I'm more than willing to wait while a games library is built up and kinks are ironed out and getting it with Scorpio.

Besides, I don't know if I'll even like VR, so I'm hoping they have some stuff at EGX later this year to try it out.

No Man's Sky is going to be so awesome :D, can't wait for that. I actually got PS+ in anticipation of that and a few other games (previously just had Xbox gold). I really want to be able to connect to the Atlas.

Absolutely, however my intentions are a bit more geeky. As a geek and future Dev (not of games, jobs market is too volatile for my liking), I'm more interested to see how vast the algorithm is for generating planets. i.e. if i start encountering the same creatures after say, ten planets discovered, I won't be that impressed, however if things are almost always new, I will be heavily impressed.

I will of course also enjoy it as a game, but depending on how impressive the algorithm they've been bragging about is, will be a factor on just HOW much I enjoy it.

I've never felt the need to get a second console (been an Xbox player since the original) and never owned the other side, this is the first time I've been compelled to do it.

Call me optimistic, but some things I'm hoping happens:

    - Sony exclusivity rights run out by Aug/Sept next year
    - Scorpio Xbox launches, with No Mans Sky to follow on Xbox shortly after.
    - No Mans Sky VR compatible on both Scorpio and PS4

I agree entirely. I'm not sure if I'll like VR or even if I'll bite.

The ps4 vr doesn't come with controllers nor the camera which involves even more money.

I hope the whole VR thing takes off with all the investment pumped into it.

That's something I've been wondering about as well and tbh I'm not getting too caught up in the hype as I don't want to be disappointed if it doesn't live up to expectations.

I've always got one of each console since I started playing (around PS2 era), I do game on PC also but don't consider those true plays as they are usually just heavily modded and I like to mess around making my own mods. Only one I didn't bother with this time was the Wii U but that might change for the new Zelda game. It would be awesome if that happened with No Man's Sky :).

I haven't looked in to it all that much, hadn't realised you needed all the extras. That might be why they've been touting that "super low" price, for the bog standard headset and calling it cheap next to Occulus and Vive.

I'll try to remember to come back and let you know my verdict on VR. EGX is only a few months away, I was excited for it when I booked it but my excitement has rapidly faded over the last few months, so if there isn't any VR to try out, I will be very disappointed.

Aside from No Man's Sky and the Skyrim remaster (wouldn't usually be interested in any remaster, but I missed it first time round), I'm not really looking forward to anything. Steep looks good, but I bought The Crew to play with friends (bought it as Xmas presents when it was released for everyone) but it barely got any play time because we all played it a few times and friends stopped after that. It kinda makes Steep look like a pointless purchase.

Been gaming since I was 2-3 years old, so that's 25-26 years now, never thought I'd start to get tired of it all, but seeing the same style stuff coming out all the time makes me eager for completely new things and just not bothering with the rest. Perhaps VR is the thing that sucks me back in.

Edit: Steep would be a definite buy if it came with VR compatibility. Snowboarding/Base Jumping and such around the Alps in VR with stunning visuals would be insane, in my opinion.
