This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Wot? No thread!
Morning everyone. It's a beautiful morning here, bright sun and twinkling sea again. I feel the need to put a washing load on.
Yesterday was fairly busy and productive after all. Today I taking another person up to Oban for a hospital clinic, hopefully it won't take too long.
Happy referendum Thursday. (I've done my postal vote already).0 -
Morning Gers and all who follow. The sun is hiding behind thick cloud cover and it all feels a bit damp here.
Yesterday I worked for a few hours, planted lettuce and herb seeds (to follow on from the ones planted earlier ), did rather more housework than I meant to, finished knitting a baby cardigan, chatted on FB, made dinner, went to bed early with a book.
Today I have jobs to do in the house, not housework as such, more things that get a bit neglected with my usual working hours, going to the botanical gardens wiith friend who recently retired, we worked together on and off for 30 years, hand over pile of knitted items for her granddaughter and great niece, knit two unicorns, I can't think what else but I've got a list.
Must have toast quick. What does everyone else have for breakfast? I have toast mostly because I dislike cereals, OH says I am the worst ever picky eater he's ever known. He's probably right, I once made a list of things I don't like eating and it was a bit long, got longer as I remembered more items.
Have good days, allI was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Morning All
The sun is shining and the washing is about to finish to go out, seem to have lots of 'odd' things to wash.
Got loads done at work yesterday with no children in (apart from one who wasn't allowed to go but his mum thought it a good punishment to be in on his own). I would imagine today will be spent sorting out things that were lost yesterday.
Hospice after work and then I must do some housework, I'll do a room an evening so it's all clean for the holidays. A week today and I will be off for 6 weeks!
I've already sent my postal vote, I'm sure the polling stations will be busy. Take care. XX0 -
Morning everyone
Gers - thanks for starting us off
Hugs to those that want/need them x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Now light, but overcast and dreary, everywhere's quite damp too, but forecast is for it to brighten up.
DH up and gone to work stupid early. DS1 up ready and gone to work. DS2 still in his pit, he's on study leave.#
Dinner last night was a roast chicken, stuffing, HG new potatoes, carrots, kale, cauli in cheese sauce, green beans, and gravy. Tonight I'm not sure, but could be spag bol.
Been a bit of a week, ended up at A & E during the night last Friday/Saturday morning as was so poorly - I've had a severe allergic reaction - so scary how poorly you can become in such a short space of time, I still wasn't good Sat daytime, and was evem worse during Sat night so DH called for an ambulance, which apparently I wasn't ill enough for them to send me one (but on Fri night on arrival at A & E the Receptionist got a nurse straight out from the Dept, she looked at my notes and sat me in the waiting area before you even get to tri-ange and brought me meds there), and on Sunday morning as they wouldn't send an ambulance DH took me and again A & E Receptionist took one look at me and got an Nurse, we went to the waiting area, I sat down and DH went to move the car as he'd just dumped it outside the doors as I couldn't walk very far by the time he got back I'd been taken into a cubicle, the staff were as always excellent and decided that I needed intravenous drugs immediately so moved me into a side room, got the lines in and started drugs that way, they kept me in for a while, then gave me further drugs and let me come home, not the way I wanted to spend the weekend but I'm on the mend now.
Keep safe and well x

No shopping being delivered tonight so will have to go out for a few bits on Saturday.

Best get on, bin day today and they either come at 8 or 4 ...

Morning everyone,
Thanks everyone for your good wishes yesterday xx. Things are calming down here. Still angry with DS1 and it's going to take a good while for me to trust him again.
It is raining cats and dogs here. Off to the gym via the polling station in a bit. Will be glad when all the shouting is overThen at the charity to catch up on work I missed whilst in a state on Tuesday.
DH and I are off to the local theatre tonight - Queen tribute. I am on housework strike as DH needs to pull his finger out and realise things need doing while he's at home all day. Waiting for everyone to run out of underwear etc. I wonder how long it will take.....
Have a good day all

Morning all. It's been a very sticky night and I have done a lot of dreaming/tossing and turning/wakening and sleeping and feel like a wet rag this morning.
I had a lovely day out with my friend yesterday but Skipton was so busy with all the coach trips that arrive in the summer months. We had to wait ages for the trippers to vacate the Red Lion before we got a table. Nothing bought on the market but a book I didn't need jumped in my hand in one of the cs, as they do, also some birth congrats cards for imminent great nieces/nephews but, best of all, a pair of leather Fly Flop wedge sandals. Size 3's are pretty hard to come by in the cs so I was quite chuffed as they are a perfect fit and look brand new.
Today is going to be a busy day. I have my waste-of-time follow up appointment with the Urology Consultant this morning. If, after going on three years, he hasn't managed to sort me out he never will. It'll be the usual grin and bear it and keep taking the tablets. I keep expecting to become immune to the one and only antibiotic that helps somewhat and then what?! Oh well, there are worse things I could have I know that but I do get fed up sometimes so sorry for moaning.
On the way to the hospital we will cast our referendum votes and on the way back home drop Mr TA's script off at the surgery and then call in Aldi for supplies. Just time (hopefully) to put shopping away, have a quick lunch and then off to school to watch middle DGD's concert (she is singing). Then bring her and younger DGD back here for a snack and then on to their swimming clubs. DD usually takes them but it's eldest's DGDs consultations at her school at the same time. She has to allow 2 hours to get round all the teachers! Eeek I hope none are running late or they will be there till bedtime!
Meals today will be quick and easy and probably eaten on the hoof! Have a good day all (((HUGS))) where wanted/needed. Take care xx
NMLC just read your post. Glad you are on the mend that sounded traumatic xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0
