  • Legit NSD today, both me and DH! Whoop!

Birthday next week. Asked for money and vouchers to buy things I need for baby and back to work. Also had my voucher for switching banks, going the same way.

Going to experiment soon with a monthly food planner, seeing if batch cooking for four weeks at a time saves much. It will save time for sure!

DD now on bottles for all but two feeds. Felt very down on Monday when I felt my milk dwindling but I know it's the right decision for us now.

Dd has also learned a hilariously loud "ah" sound which she does all day now. She's a funny little person!

    Happy days!

  • Not posted for ages! Busy month. I've passed my driving test, was pleased that adding me as a named driver to our existing car was fifty quid, expected more! I won't be getting my own car at the moment as I'm only going t use one at most once a week, it's not worth it. Keeping my eye in driving DHs car when I can.

Not a very MSE month. Spent a lot on clothes but used a reward voucher and birthday money to supplement. Buying a new wardrobe is expensive. However I have discovered that lots of women buy nice clothes, wear them once or not at all and then put them on eBay for a fraction of the cost. I've got a wardrobe of fancy clothes for work without spending close to what I would have new. Great stuff. My particular fav is designer shoes for next twenty quid. I have narrow feet and so can't just buy high street, I have found a brand that fits me. They're not ten a penny on eBay but with some clever searching I've found a good fe pairs of smart work shoes.

Also started my xmas shopping. Back to work in two weeks , so I'm thinking let's get as much front loaded as possible.

Taking DD to nursery for a taster session today. I have been super rational and calm until today, suddenly feeling very emotional about letting someone else look after my little babe all day!

  • Again not been on for ages! Life has been utterly mad recently.

LO settled in wonderfully at nursery but has been coming home with ALL the germs. All of them! Colds, green snot, sticky eyes, the lot. She's fine now, I hope. She's weaning too, I've never laughed so hard at someone eating - she loves it, she licks her face and her bib afterwards to get as much as possible! Making homemade pur!e.

Back at work too. I am really enjoying it but the juggling is exhausting. Had a few sulks and rows with DH about sharing the burden. It is fun to get dressed and made up then spend a good chunk of the day not covered in sick or dribble!

DH has also been ill a lot, bugs and colds. I've got the cold.

Financially it's all gone to pot. Between new clothes, makeup, xmas shopping, an alarm and a plumber, my accessible savings are empty. The current account was drained until payday. Credit cards have big bills this month and I think I might need to drain my locked in savings too, losing the interest but needs must.

The alarm was needed, it's something I've been putting off for years but a spate of burglaries in the area made it time to crack on. Two broken taps needed replacing. Also getting a security light fitted.

TBH I've probably overdone the clothes and got carried away with makeup. It was fun treating myself but I think I should have planned better and stopped myself sooner.

So feeling very much back to square one now. Rubbish.

Need to claim back expenses for business trip, work hard at maximising work that attracts a bonus, wait and see what happens with GB credit balance (in process of moving to Eon anyway) and FOR PETES SAKE STOP SPENDING!

Words of encouragement welcome fellow MFWers x

It sounds like you've had an awful lot to contend with in the past month Zopig! So it's not surprising that you've fallen off the wagon a bit. But well done for recognising that you have - I'm sure now you've done that you'll be back on the straight and narrow soon - but it's also hard at Christmas, so maybe start with a plan for the NY! You've got a short-term plan of actions, so focus on that for now! :)

Your daughter sounds adorable and it's great that she's enjoying what she's eating - I'm sure not having a fussy eater will save you money in the long run. :)

  • Feeling a bit fed up today, not understanding how childcare vouchers work has meant that we haven't got them to nursery on time for this months invoice so now we have had the money come out of our wages and then paid in full on top!

Feeling disappointed in myself for getting to a point where bank of mum and dad has bailed me out this month to make sure I can get everything paid for.

My aim now is to get everything reset to zero for the new year and then get going on tucking it all away.

got my expenses claim in at work so some relief coming.
    :)
