Nervous about changing insurers...

The atmosphere is currently filled with hypocrisy so thick that it could be sliced, wrapped, and sold in supermarkets for a decent price and labeled, 'Wholegrain Left-Wing, Middle-Class, Politically-Correct Organic Hypocrisy'.

The insurance companies (and other financial institutions) prey on that nervousness. They have no loyalty to you (ie. your run in with Abbey), so why should you have any loyalty to them - unless your current insurer actually comes up with the lowest quote, of course.
And you are right not to trust insurance companies (or anyone else!) where your money is involved.The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.

Maybe you could do a little spreadsheet with details of the cover? It could set your mind at ease a little more?0

Maybe. However, you do need to be careful that the insurer involved isn't sacrificing a potentially useful fringe benefit to keep the price down. Your existing policy should have a list of what it covers.The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.
