Edingburgh 27/10 for 1 night

Morning All,

I'm wanting to take my GF to Edingburgh (sp) for 1 Night on the above date, having never been up there can anyone reccommend anywhere to stay and stuff to do. Budget for the Hotel is £200.00 for us both.

Many Thanks.

  • I've never heard of Ricks Caz but it looks really nice and different :)

Chris, if you look on the Scotland Board, link in my signature, you'll find a thread of what to do in Edinburgh and I can certainly recommend the Witchery Ghost Tour :)

  • try london town.com and check prices with laterooms. if you can get it cheaper, you get £100. the thistle usually apears overpriced.
  • Many Thanks for that TBeckett100, however I am off to Edinburgh!! the thought was nice though. LOL

For £200 for a one night stay you could have the pick of Edinburgh Hotels.
If you want to stay central and high class then The Balmoral in Princes Street or Sheraton in Lothian Road are great although they might stretch your budget.

The Point hotel in Bread Street is VERY nice and do double rooms from approx £80 per night and that is very central as well.

As for things to do in Edinburgh. How long have you got
As Edinburghlass says The Witchery Ghost Tour which leaves from The Tron on the Royal Mile is a must if you like that sort of thing, as is Mary Kings Close.

Other sights are obviously Edinburgh Castle, Hollyrood House, Scot Monument, Calton Hill and The Scottish Parliament (which to be honest is scary!)) All of which are within walking distance of each other. There is also the City Tour Bus which is great.

If you can get out to South Queensferry (about 20mins by bus) or a £20 taxi ride from the city centre then go and see the Bridges, nice places to eat down there as well with great views over the river.

TBeckett is talking about the price guartuee they give which you can claim back if you find it cheaper elsewhere. London Town do hotels all over Britain. He's a bit of an expert on it as you can see from his sig:D

The kids and me stayed at the McDonald Holyrod it was lovely! Cost us £90.00 including breakfast. We used Travel Republic.
But if ever I stray from the path I follow
Take me down to the English Channel
Throw me in where the water is shallow And then drag me on back to shore!
'Cos love is free and life is cheap As long as I've got me a place to sleep
Clothes on my back and some food to eat I can't ask for anything more
