I'm trying to plan a weekend break for my birthday in 2017. I suggested other places to my friend but she had already been and suggested Warsaw or Krakow (have already been there myself).

It will be cold!
How about Venice, Trieste or Nice?0 -

Choose a place neither of you have been to.0

I'd say that as it's for your birthday, you're the one who should choose really; and then maybe have another weekend break with your friend somewhere she wants to go

If you're thinking of Poland, Wroclaw is a really nice city and is pretty cheap in March.0

Be a bit nippy, even in Venice and Trieste won't be that warm, the Bora hits hard.0

I have done Krakow for my birthday in March and loved it. Even done Poland in November and December. Yes its cold but it makes the cellar bar culture nice and cosy. Also if you get any snow it can be really nice. Yes its unlikely to be warm but poland is great all year for different reasons.0

I went in Feb a few years ago, Sun and rain, just think its a bit more predictable later on. Trieste was like a different town come summer, lovely.0
