Help please first time buyer

Hi all,

I'm looking into buying my first home with my other half. I have £20,000.00 saved and him £15,000.00. I earn £18,500.00 and him £17,000.00 (we both get overtime and bonuses but I've not included this as its not always guaranteed but comes to about £1,000.00 each a year)

He has perfect credit never a late payment and only ever had a phone contract.

Me on the other hand not so great. When I was 19-20 I changed jobs from a weekend retail job to a full time business admin job. I walked out after just over a month after unwanted advances from my boss. I was young, naive and embarrassed and had no reference. From October 2011 - April 2012 I was unemployed and got into serious debt quickly.

Now 24-25 I have a stable career and have saved like a mad woman. My questions are:
Below is my credit report (personal details taken out)
1. What should I be most concerned about regarding my report and is there anything I can do to improve it
2. What date will it all be clear (I'm unsure if it's the default date or satisfied date plus 6 years)
3. Would every bank send me away right at this moment, would it be best to wait
4. I had some Wonga defaults on my credit report a few months ago they were all taken out end of 2011 but they are no longer there, have they fallen off before 6 years?

Thank you in advance and sorry if I am being extremely dense!

You need to put all 3 of your credit reports in front of a decent independent broker to look at.
  • Thank you - I do plan to do this I just want to save myself embarrassment and know in advance if it all is wishful thinking

    1. Are you on the electoral roll?

    2. Do you use your Aqua card every month, then pay it off in full every month?

    Best of luck!

That's why you go to a broker. They'll assess your situation in full and then suggest any suitable lenders.

    1. Yes

    2. Yes every month, I spend averagely £50.00 on it and pay off in full when the statement comes in. Never missed a payment or paid the minimum always in full

Good! I know very little to answer your original question, but am aware that both of these will help your application.
