exchange or refund laptop at PC World

Hi has anyone here managed to exchange or refund a laptop from PC World considering they've installed a few softwares? I bought a ASUS laptop instore and I actually regret getting it.
I spoke to a sales advisor and they said even though you've reset the laptop they can still recover the data to know what you've previously installed. Is this true?

Yes, it is essentially true. A laptop that has been reset will not be like new and someone with the right knowledge could determine a lot about its previous use. It should also not be sold as new.0 -
You bought it in store so they are not taking it back any way it goes as you have opened it and used it.0
