How to Re-Negotiate House Purchase Price?

If I have the house survey report back, does the solicitor highlight any potential problems to us?

Do they say approximately how much it would be to fix?

Do I go through them to re-negotiate a purchase price or do I go through the Estate Agents?

Sorry, all new to me!

Your Solicitor will point out the key items as part of their work but down to you to decide if you can live with any issues highlighted.

You will need to get quotes for any work - the report will usually suggests that you do this for anything significant.

If you want to renegotiate, do it through the EA - but check what valuation the survey has put on the property - asking price?

Post up the key survey findings here and people will give you a view.

Your solicitor may not read thew whole report.
I sent mine a 60-page printout and he told me he would only read the "discussion" chapter.
You should be able to infer from your report everything you need to know, and if not you should speak to the surveyor to clarify. The survey is written for the layman, i.e. you, and you should be able to understand it.
