Oh dear Coxy11 I am sorry your having a bad day ,hope things improve for you.

H/H go for it what have you got to lose, nothing ventured, nothing gained etc.

TA Hope your day goes as well as it sounds it might

Tru , sit down with a cuppa and list what you have, and what you want to do with it renovating s/h stuff is such a good fun and rewarding experience .I always have some small bits in my conservatory on the go.At the moment I have an old coat rack that I rubbed down and I'm painting scarlet.I took the hooks off and its really only a long piece of 2x4 that had been painted a sort of beige colour so I decided I am going to brighten it up and it will go on the wall of one of my grandsons bedrooms to hold their school blazers, soccer kit and school bags etc instead of being dropped on the floor Scarlet being one of the colours of Liverpool footie team which they support I figured that they are more likely to use it :) I shall stick some lettering along it as well saying 'Lets All Hang Out Together' in the hope stuff gets hung up :):):)

R/R sounds like you may be in with a chance with your powerpoint ,fingers crossed

Camelot, Force 10 in Scotland !!! I love Halloumi squeaky cheese

AoD I retired in 1995 and seem to do more now than I ever did when working :)

Gers. Think of getting rid of paperwork as decluttering and freeing up space I too hated getting rid of my essays I did at Uni as I felt I had sweated blood and tears over them, but the end result was what mattered, and I too had them saved on my computer :)

Well good morning chums looking a bit cloudy at the moment and the wet stuff is forecast Amazing moon last night on the way home from Quiz seemed enormous in the sky over the River Medway, came third in the quiz and we were all quite happy with the result.

I took DGS Ben out to lunch and bless him he really enjoyed it having just the two of us on our own for a change I try to have a bit of time with each of the boys, as being four of them, it does get a bit noisy and crowded sometimes.

Today I promised I would drop DGS Jack at his pals as he came home from school yesterday and cartwheeled around the room beaming as his GCSE exams are now over and he is off now until September when he goes into 6th form,so today Jack and his pals are having a celebratory day together just chilling out and eating pizzas :):):) what it is to be 16 and the whole world is in front of you :0

Thank you Bev (Newroadahead ) for your kind donation to the Race for Life fund, DD Tess and I do appreciate it xx

Well I feel the kettle calling me for coffee, hope everyone has a great day and the sun shines down on you all

    Cheers chums

    Good morning everyone :hello:

First of all, sending huge hugs to Coxy. I have 3 teenagers and they have certainly had their moments :eek:. I also remember being a horrible teenager myself and really putting my mum through it but it all came good in the end. I am now a reasonable human being and I really hope your son can learn from his mistakes and change.

It's another dry and dull day here today. The girls have gone to school apart from DD16 who is still in bed enjoying her freedom. I have my friend Rose coming over to see me today. I haven't seen her for a couple of weeks and it is true that absence makes the heart grow fonder. We might go out for a ladies lunch, it depends on whether she is up for it. If not I have plenty in to make us lunch here.

I managed to get to slimming world yesterday and I lost 4lb since the last time I went. It was quite a bit busier than before but I was still out of there by 1pm. It was nice to see everyone and there was a man there who got to target and reversed his diabetes which has given me great hope,

I am making spiced orange chicken, salad and wholemeal couscous for tea. I expect some whinges but they know where the toaster is if they don't want to eat my lovingly prepared food :rotfl:. Actually I might throw some jacket potatoes in the oven as I am the only one who likes couscous so I am being a bit mean making it for everyone.

Well, I'd better go and tidy the living room ready for my visitor. Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx

    Good morning,

Yesterday was a busy day at work followed by a solid gym class with my best friend. He's expecting twins at the end of the year, soo excited for him. Today will be the usual 9-5 then off to the Mrs. Not sure what's planned, probably give Dexter another go.

Coxy - I hope things improve for you, I really do. You're doing your best.
Jackie - Sounds like you and your DGS's had a wonderful day yesterday.
Dumpling - Huge well done on weight loss!! That's fantastic.
  • Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.

Coxy keep your chin up girl, I know all about teenage boys, I had two of them, the eldest was a nightmare, and unfortunately still is at 54!! The youngest one was not too bad although he too had his moments.

It looks like being a nice day, I am waiting for a workman to come and look at the coal shed, and putting the water barrel on the drain pipe. Then I need to get my body out and finish weeding one half of the front garden. OH went round with the spray and squirted the worst weeds, but its the little ones with the thread like roots I need to get rid of, I also need to take all the seed heads off the yellow poppies.

No idea whats for supper tonight, will have a look at the menu on the fridge door. We have to go to Bingham tomorrow to take library books back and also to Aldi for a few bits to last through to the end of the month.

Speky - why isn't your best friend front page news for his miracle pregnancy (sorry, couldn't resist). Congratulations to him and presumably his partner.

Coxy, I hope you manage to get sorted with DS, I'm so thankful to have come through the teenage years unscathed.

DS, DD and respective partners are off to Glastonbury which is my idea of hell on earth. I hope they don't have too much mud to contend with but it already looks horrible. I'm a bit worried about DS' broken toe as well with all the standing around because it will be too wet to sit.

Well done on the weight loss dumpling.

I couldn't get to sleep last night - it was after 3 before I dropped off so I'm having a slow morning. I want to sew a pair of trousers today though and also make some mocha squares for the Glasto crew as they will keep well.

...Had a productive afternoon yesterday, when to the nursery as had a hankering for a patio rose after seeing some lovely ones on holibobs. Finally decided on a beautiful sun yellow one, put it in a dark blue pot and it now stands next to my back door which is a lovely sunny spot. Also picked up a dark pink rambling one to plant outside my dining room window, there was SO many plants I liked the look of think I was very restrained. Some ladies go mad in a shoe shop, for me it's a nursery every time, have to take cash so don't overspend :rotfl:...

My late mum would always say that no matter how tight money was, she could always find some for plants & books, and I'm just the same!

The day got brighter and now it's only dull and warm!

I got a load of deliveries this afternoon, including something I sent myself from Melbourne in early April by sea mail. And, an item from Amazon which I didn't order and isn't a gift to me. When I phoned them just now it was like pulling teeth -

Me - I've received an expensive Nikon camera lens which I didn't order, can you help please>.

Amazon - have you recently ordered a camera lens?

    Me - no, that's why I'm ringing because I haven't ordered it.

Amazon - I'll just check your account in case you ordered it

And so it went on, she asked me four more times had I ordered it - no - and then three times if it could be a gift - no, I haven't got a camera on which to fit this expensive Nikon lens.

Then she examined my account four times!

Eventually I said that I'd had enough and to please arrange collection. To make it worse she was very passive aggressive 'ma'am we have to check' - you've checked more times than the Queen's security detail... and breathing!:mad: Wish I'd not bothered.

Two new plants arrived so they're plonked in a basin of water, my new mini bluetooth speaker for travelling and an Amazon book which came all the way from Canada.

    Cup of tea I think...

Well done Dumpling in your weight loss.
I can sympathise with teenagers. I've got a girl aged 15 and a boy aged 17 soon. Add in the fact my daughter hates school as well as having attachment disorder. Tempers are often flared.

Not much done today went for a walk around to my brothers to post his birthday card then got the local paper. Ironing now up to date. Tea already eaten by kids as its football training at 6 and Scouts. Will ping mine and husbands later.

Hugs to those who want/ need them.

Hugs Coxy, my sons were very little trouble as teenagers, my daughters, they were a whole 'nother story. We used to call one of them The B1tch Queen from Hell, from when she was about 6!!!
